Even ancient legends remain alive. They feed on a rich imagination, which they help build. Characters are added or disappear, new situations come to life. Near the Tolba Trail in Odanak, two teenage girls tell the story of Odasquine. In their version, the medicine man developed a potion that prevents aging and was the envy of a man who did everything in his power to get a hold of it. Because of this, Odasquine destroyed the elixir. Gradually, his skin dried out and he turned to dust, unlike legends that come to life every time they are told.
